We welcome you to the South Carolina United Methodist Volunteers In Mission Early Response Team web site. The purpose of this site is several fold.

1. If you are interested in joining one of our teams, we want you to be completely informed as to our mission, purpose, goals, procedures, expectations and risks.
2. Once you have reviewed all our material, prayed about your decision and wish to join we offer an automated way to enter your contact information. Membership is free, however; we would like for you to consider an annual donation of $25.00 to help offset costs.
3. After you have joined, this site serves as an online community providing members access to a members-only website section, where you can access publications and resources, update your contact information and sign up for events, such as training sessions, online.
4. You will want to bookmark this site as we will be posting and sharing online newsletters, documents, announcements, blogs and trip photos.

As you can imagine, the key to having a fast effective response to a disaster is to maintain an accurate database of names and contacts of our members. Therefore, we ask you to come back and update your information any time you have a change of address, phone number, email address or training status. This site is our central database for the state. Obviously, in the event of a disaster this site cannot take the place of the calling tree to activate individuals for the teams. However, it will be the central repository for communicating our progress during the early response phase.
